Calacatta Lux Quartzite Bathroom Vanity

Project Backstory

For this bathroom vanity, our client wanted a natural stone top with a look that would carry the room. We selected Calacatta Lux quartzite, which pairs a bright, light background with clean veining for a refined, marble-inspired feel.

The detail that sets this vanity apart is the edge. We shaped a custom OG profile with an apron, a curved edge that drops into a deeper front face. That combination adds height and a furniture-like presence to the vanity, giving it a more finished, built-in look than a standard square edge.

Calacatta Lux is a natural quartzite, so alongside the appearance it brings real durability to a space that sees daily use. We fabricated and installed the top so the veining reads cleanly and the custom edge stays the focal point.

Project Materials

We used Calacatta Lux quartzite for this vanity top, a natural stone with a bright, light background and clean veining for a refined, marble-inspired look. Because it is a quartzite rather than marble, it is harder and more resistant to scratching and etching, which suits a vanity that sees daily use.

We finished the top with a custom OG edge and an apron, a curved profile that drops into a deeper front face and gives the vanity a thicker, furniture-like presence. We fabricated and installed it so the veining reads cleanly and the custom edge stays the focal point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about our quartz countertops here.

1. What is an OG edge with an apron?

An OG (or ogee) edge is a shaped profile with an S-shaped curve. Adding an apron extends the front of the counter downward into a deeper face, so the vanity looks thicker and more substantial. It is a custom detail that gives a vanity a traditional, furniture-style look.

2. Is Calacatta Lux quartzite a good choice for a bathroom vanity?

Yes. Calacatta Lux gives you the light, marble-inspired appearance many homeowners want, but as a quartzite it is harder and more resistant to scratching and etching than natural marble. That makes it well suited to a vanity that sees daily use with cosmetics and toiletries.

3. How do I care for a Calacatta Lux quartzite vanity?

Wipe it with warm water and a mild pH neutral cleaner, and avoid acidic or abrasive products. As a natural stone it should be sealed and resealed periodically to resist staining, which matters in a bathroom where products can sit on the surface. Wiping up spills promptly keeps the light stone looking its best.

What our Customers are Saying

“We had our second project done with Stokes. Everything went smooth and installers did whole kitchen countertop and back splash done in a day and cleaned the space before leaving. The fabricator discount that Stokes gave us while buying the slabs helped us a lot to save money and to buy the slabs that we liked. Overall; I am happy working with them and I will reach out to them for any future project we may have.“

“Stokes just installed new quartz countertops in my kitchen, laundry room and half bathroom. What a transformation to my house! The installation crew did an outstanding job. They were careful, courteous, friendly, and it was fun to watch the pros at work. Mike did a perfect job making the templates. Ashley was delightful to work with on all the paperwork and scheduling. I couldn’t be happier with everyone at Stokes. I happily give the my highest recommendation and would call them first in the future!“
