Stokes Granite & Stone, based in Grass Valley, California, recently completed a refined kitchen renovation that showcases their skill in custom surface fabrication. Through careful planning, precision workmanship, and local craftsmanship, the team delivered a kitchen environment that is both durable and visually appealing.

Project Materials

This installation featured Inverness Cobalt Quartz, selected for its deep color, rich movement, and distinctive patterning. To create a clean and contemporary look, the material was finished with a matte surface, giving it a smooth, understated texture that complements the overall design. The countertops were completed with a bevel edge detail, adding a classic finishing touch while highlighting the craftsmanship and attention to detail behind the entire quartz installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about our quartz countertops here.

1. Is quartz a good material for kitchen countertops?

Yes, quartz is a popular choice for kitchen countertops because it is durable, low maintenance, and available in a wide range of colors and patterns. Since quartz is engineered, it offers a consistent appearance while still providing strong everyday performance.

2. Do quartz countertops need to be sealed?

No, quartz countertops do not need to be sealed. Unlike natural stone, quartz is non-porous, which means it resists stains and moisture without requiring regular sealing. This makes quartz an easy-care option for busy kitchens and bathrooms.

3. Are quartz countertops heat and scratch resistant?

Quartz countertops are resistant to scratches and normal daily wear, but they are not completely heatproof. It’s best to use trivets or hot pads under hot pots and pans to help prevent damage. With proper care, quartz remains a long-lasting and attractive surface option.

What our Customers are Saying

We had our second project done with Stokes. Everything went smooth and installers did whole kitchen countertop and back splash done in a day and cleaned the space before leaving. The fabricator discount that Stokes gave us while buying the slabs helped us a lot to save money and to buy the slabs that we liked. Overall; I am happy working with them and I will reach out to them for any future project we may have.

Past Customer

Stokes just installed new quartz countertops in my kitchen, laundry room and half bathroom. What a transformation to my house! The installation crew did an outstanding job. They were careful, courteous, friendly, and it was fun to watch the pros at work. Mike did a perfect job making the templates. Ashley was delightful to work with on all the paperwork and scheduling. I couldn’t be happier with everyone at Stokes. I happily give the my highest recommendation and would call them first in the future!
